How about Brecon Vodka and Gin?

And there are loads of beautiful cheeses and wines.

Special mention MUST go to Perl Wen (cheese) - much as I love Caerffili, this is FAR superior! (OOO! Contention!)

A Gog descendant (luckily born in Cowbridge!) reminded me of Lob Scaws! I know there's a lot of speculation as to where this dish comes from (Liverpool and Scandanavia seem to be popular choices), but I'll stick with the Holyhead theory! And it tastes fab, too...Bendigedig!

Re. your "Clarks Pies" entry: I've recently been led to believe that these derive from Bristol... in fact, there's a shop in Bedminster! Is this true?

I am the younger brother of the late Ivor Emmanuel and until we were separated in 1941, he and I were brought up by our parents in Pontrhydyfen. One of my fondest memories is of a weekly visit to Neath market where we enjoyed a special treat of "Faggotts and Peas". I have lived in New Zealand for over 43 years but when I think of my childhood visit to the F&P booth I can still smell them. If anyone has a recipe I would be very grateful.
