Myfanwy Talog

Myfanwy Talog
Myfanwy Talog  (March 31, 1945–March 11, 1995) (full name Myfanwy Talog Williams) was a Welsh actress, best known to the media as the long-term partner of Sir David Jason.

She was born in Caerwys, Flintshire, where a plaque can now be seen on the house where she was born. She worked as a teacher before taking up an acting career, and appeared mainly on Welsh language television, in comedy and children's programmes. For audiences in Wales she was forever associated with the character of "Phyllis Doris" which she played in the series Ryan and Ronnie. She later appeared in several English-language sitcoms and soap operas. She lived with David Jason for eighteen years until her death, and accompanied him to Buckingham Palace in 1993 to receive his OBE.

On television, Talog narrated Will Quack Quack for S4C and Siriol Productions and did voices on Alias the Jester and The BFG for Cosgrove Hall. She also sang the theme tune to Dangermouse.

Myfanwy Talog died of breast cancer at the age of 49, having been nursed through the final stages by her partner, who interrupted his acting career to spend time with her.
